Richard Samit is the Founder and CEO of Fraser Forbes Real Estate Services , an award-winning industry leader in the Washington, DC region. Samit has been responsible for building the firm into one of the Mid-Atlantic's leading real estate companies. Since its founding in 1995, Fraser Forbes has consulted and transacted in excess of $5.5 billion in development sites, including over 650 separate projects encompassing over 60,000 residential lots and land entitled for over 8 million square feet of commercial development. In addition to the companies' best-in-class sales capabilities, Samit has created Fraser Forbes Management and Advisory Services Group, which provides local and regional market analysis, valuation underwriting, asset management and development solutions for our clients. His vision to help clients with much needed capital support brought about our Financing Services division which assists in raising real estate project equity and debt. Relationships have been established with institutional investors and high net worth individuals, as well as national, regional, and community banks. He stays abreast of emerging trends and his network of industry-wide relationships built throughout his 28 year regional real estate career has been instrumental to the growth of Fraser Forbes and S&W .Mr. Samit is an active member of the community. He established the Richard O. Samit Charitable Fund of the Montgomery County Charitable Foundation which supports various organizations, is a member of the US Capital Chapter of Young Presidents Organization and serves as a member of the 2030 Group, a Washington DC Metropolitan based regional planning group. Mr. Samit holds a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
Having previously served as the firm’s Director of Operations, Jamie leverages her deep understanding and knowledge of Fraser Forbes in her role as the Chief Financial and Strategic Officer, where she will concentrate on long-range business planning and execution, exploring new lines of business, and advising the team on mission-critical decisions. Prior to arriving at Fraser Forbes, Jamie was responsible for commercial sales at ADT/Tyco Fire and Securities in Orlando, Florida, where she generated sales volume that placed her in the top 5% of the company. Before joining ADT/Tyco, Jamie worked at Heidt and Associates, a civil engineering and land surveying company based in Tampa, Florida as an Executive Assistant to the Director of Land Surveying.
With over 50 years in the real estate industry, Bruce Winston offers Fraser Forbes' clients the benefit of extensive experience and a successful track record within the development, home building and banking community. Since joining Fraser Forbes in 1999, Winston has been involved in transactions totaling over $1 Billion. He is a key leader of Fraser Forbes in all aspects of its business operations. In Bruce's five decades of doing business in the greater Washington, DC Metropolitan area, his deep rooted relationships and vast knowledge provides clients with expertise rarely seen in this industry. Winston's real estate career began in the early 1960's with Dorothy K. Winston & Company. From 1974 to 1998, he was a builder and developer involved in the acquisition, development, entitlement, financing and marketing of over 800 single family and town house homes as well as several hundred residential lots in the Washington, DC metropolitan area . Winston also developed an office building in Bethesda, Maryland. Winston served as president of the SMBIA (now MNCBIA) in 1983 and 1984.
Tom Bourke has decades of experience in real estate development, and at Fraser Forbes he provides consulting services to clients in project evaluation, acquisition and development. He also represents land buyers and sellers in meeting their land needs based on his most recent experience where he directed land acquisitions and dispositions as Vice President of Winchester Homes, a top builder in the Washington metropolitan area. At Winchester he was directly responsible and involved in the acquisition and development of over 3,500 lots. Tom’s office, retail, and high density residential experience includes leading Winchester Commercial where he developed office and flex-space buildings and parks. Prior to this, he was Vice President for DC Development of the prominent Oliver Carr Company in Washington DC. He was responsible for such projects as Metro Center, the AARP Headquarters, and the completion of the Willard Hotel and Retail complex. His various projects included over 1.5M sf of office space, 50,000 sf of retail and over 450 hotel rooms. Prior to joining Carr, Tom was a Vice President of The Rouse Company - the developer of Columbia MD, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Harborplace, etc.- where he was a manager of their consulting division which provided urban design and financial/market research services to various cities. His architectural background includes tenure as an Associate at Arthur Cotton Moore/Associates working on the Georgetown Waterfront, Canal Square, the Old Post Office, the Van Ness apartments, etc. He is a graduate of Amherst College and holds a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University. He was an Adjunct Professor in the George Washington University MBA/Urban Studies program.
Before joining Fraser Forbes, David Wagner served his client base by practicing law and real estate brokerage for a combined 20 years. David’s area of expertise includes real estate acquisitions, dispositions and leasing. He represents land, office, mixed-use and multifamily buyers and sellers, assisting them in realizing the highest value for their properties and achieving their acquisition and disposition goals. As an attorney, he represented clients in connection with the purchase and sale of over one thousand acres of undeveloped land and numerous office buildings, and assisted clients with negotiating leases for hundreds of thousands of square feet of office and retail space. As a broker he has been involved in transactions for the purchase, sale, and leasing of over two million square feet of space. The combination of legal and brokerage talent provides a unique and highly desirable set of skills to the clients that Fraser Forbes supports.
David is also a member of the S&W Investments team. As the director of operations for S&W, he is responsible for maintaining and growing the company’s relationships with its existing partners and identifying and executing on new business opportunities. David oversees the daily operational management of the S&W Investments portfolio, including banking relationships and the negotiations and closings for all acquisitions.
Born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, David attended Walt Whitman High School, the University of Maryland, and Columbus School of Law at Catholic University. He has deep ties in the real estate community, ranging from owners and developers to attorneys, architects and planners.
For 23 years Mike Parsels has been a real estate executive managing land acquisitions and development for public housing companies in Maryland, Virginia & New York. Mike brings his extensive knowledge and skillset to Fraser Forbes as our Vice President of Research and Business Development. Mike’s early career in real estate started with directing site selection, acquisitions, entitlements and development for Sunrise Senior Living in New York. He also managed acquisitions for Sunrise in Maryland and northern Virginia, and in total managed nearly $500 million in development for Sunrise. Mike also directed real estate transactions and growth for large, public home builders such as Ryan Homes, NV Homes and most recently Toll Brothers for 14 years in Maryland. Under Mike’s leadership during this period these builders acquired nearly 3,500 lots including securing several complex and high-profile properties - Mike’s Toll Brothers team secured the winning bid to acquire the exclusive 75-acre WMAL Radio Tower site in North Bethesda, which is among the highest-priced unimproved land acquisitions in Maryland’s history, as well as the Hanson farm located in North Potomac, a three-generation farm and one of the last Montgomery County farms to yield more than 100 homes. Mike’s approach to winning combines his considerable tenacity and understanding of the complexities in ground-up development and in collaborating with buyers, sellers and consultants to unlock the intrinsic value in real estate projects.
With over fourteen years of real estate experience supporting residential development, Yovi Sever brings his extensive knowledge, skillsets and relationships to Fraser Forbes as our Vice President of Property Sales and Consulting Services. Yovi previously served as Monument Realty’s in-house residential specialist, consulting and providing support to the project management team. As Development Manager, he directed all aspects of the development process, including feasibility, entitlement, design, construction, financing, investor relations, marketing, management, and disposition of single family residential and multi-family residential projects in the Washington, DC region. Yovi played an instrumental role in many Monument Realty residential projects and served as project manager for the full-entitlement conversion of the former Montgomery Village Golf Club into a large single-family residential development. Prior to joining Monument’s development team in 2012, he served as Sales Manager for Monument Realty from 2005-2012, managing and executing the sales of more than 1,100 residential transactions totaling over $500 million. Yovi's extensive network of contacts in the real estate industry and related services enable him to bring the highest level of comprehensive real estate services in a brokerage and consulting capacity to the clients of Fraser Forbes. He has an Associate Arts degree in Business Administration from Miami Dade Community College and attended Florida International University, with a focus on Business Administration. He resides in Rockville with his family and has deep ties within the community where he lives, works and plays.
Katie Horten is the Director of Operations at Fraser Forbes. She is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and managing the operations at Fraser Forbes. Katie has over 10 years of experience in the operations field, formerly having served as an operations officer for BB&T. She was previously responsible for managing multiple branches in the Northern Virginia and DC areas, ensuring quality execution of corporate policies and standards, as well as assisting branch staff with daily operational issues and tasks. Her organizational skills, technical abilities and managerial experience make her an extremely valuable addition to the Fraser Forbes team. Katie graduated cum laude with an AS from Northern Virginia Community College.
Kathleen Horten has over 10 years of experience in the financial field, as well as over 5 years of experience in the consulting field. Having the unique opportunity to work in these two different career paths, she possesses a great problem solving skill set. Due to her background in both finance and administration, Kathleen is very versatile and is able to think quickly on her feet. She demonstrates excellent customer service skills and always presents a customer-first attitude. She provides administrative support to Fraser Forbes as well as S&W Investments.
